TPC Louisiana is a PGA Tour Facility.  What does that mean?
As a PGA Tour facility, TPC Louisiana is owned and operated by the PGA TOUR.  As such, TPC Louisiana is the annual host for the Zurich Classic (New Orleans PGA TOUR Event) and operates according to the highest standards of operation within the golf industry.  More so, guests have the chance to experience what it is like to be a Tour player!

How far is TPC Louisiana from the downtown New Orleans?
TPC Louisiana is approximately 12 miles from the Downtown/French Quarter district with an expected travel time of 20 minutes.

What is your dress code?
TPC Louisiana requires that proper attire must be worn at all times on club property.  For men, collared shirts and Bermuda length shorts or (golf) slacks will meet this requirement.  For ladies, currently fashionable golf attire satisfies this requirement.  Short skirts and running outfits do not qualify.  Business casual or proper golf attire is required in all other areas of the clubhouse facilities.  Denim jeans are not allowed.

What is your cancellation policy?
The cancellation policy for non-group play is 48 hours.  Due to the increased activity in New Orleans, this policy is strictly enforced.

Is there a twilight rate?
Yes, we do have a twilight rate, but it should really be considered a nine-hole rate.  The times in which the twilight rate goes into effect do not allow a golfer to complete all 18 holes.

Can I bring my own food and beverage to the course?
At all of TPC facilities liquor license restrictions prohibit customers from bringing their own products on the facility grounds.  TPC insurance carriers do not permit TPC to allow private beverages or coolers due to the DRAM shop laws on liquor liability.  Additionally, TPC Food & Beverage operations provide courtesy coolers or rental coolers as well as beverage carts and halfway houses.  TPC Louisiana serves a wide variety of food and beverage; therefore personal products are not permitted.

Can I wear metal spikes?
TPC Louisiana does not allow the use of metal spikes.  Alternative spikes are available in our Golf Shop or Locker Room.  We will be happy to assist you with the change in your shoes.

How long should it take to play the course?
TPC Louisiana is rated at 4 hours and 24 minutes for a round of golf for a foursome.  This varies depending on cart path restrictions and amount of play on the golf course.  For the enjoyment of all of our guests, pace of play is strictly enforced.  Slow groups will be monitored to ensure timeliness.

How hot does it get in the summer?
In New Orleans, our summers are hot and humid with temperatures frequently reaching the high 90’s.  There is plenty of drinking water on the golf course.  A great way to beat the heat, our Course Advisor staff’s golf carts are stocked with towels soaked in ice water that is scented with Florida water.

What is TPC Louisiana’s cart policy?
A cart or riksha (pull cart) is included with your greens fee.  TPC Louisiana features a 90 degree rule throughout the year with the exception of inclement weather, and scheduled course maintenance practices.  TPC Louisiana also enforces a strict “Cart Path Only” rule 45 days leading up the Zurich Classic (New Orleans PGA TOUR Event).  This ensures plush playing conditions for this PGA TOUR event.  The Zurich Classic will be played from April 16th-22nd, 2007.

How does the course hold up in the summer?
TPC Louisiana is in great shape all throughout the year, especially the summer.  The turf found on the golf course is a Bermuda grass which thrives in the hot and humid climate of the Southeastern states that host PGA TOUR events.

What set of tees should I play from?
TPC Louisiana has (5) sets of tee boxes per hole allowing golfers of all playing levels.  Length and challenging greens make this Pete Dye design test the merit of each golfer’s ability.  Please reference the following guide to select an appropriate tee box and yardage for your skill level.

TEE YARDAGE HANDICAP
PGA TOUR 7,520 Professional Staff Approval Only
Dye 7,010 0-6
Tournament 6,668 7-16
Players 6,210 17-30
Club 5,121 31+

How long does it take for the greens to return to normal after aeration?
Aerated greens usually take 8-10 days to return to normal.  This time line can be affected by the weather.  Please be sure to ask the golf shop staff if your play is scheduled after aeration.

What is over-seeding and what kind of course conditions can I expect after over-seeding?
Over-seeding is the planting of Rye grass which will withstand the cooler temperatures of the winter. This process is commonplace for golf courses in the Southeast that host PGA TOUR Events, to provide plush and favorable playing conditions.  After over-seeding, carts are usually restricted to the paths for at least one month.  Because this process involves growing new grass, the fairways are a little longer and will be watered more than normal.  The course will remain in good shape and very playable during a recent over-seed.  Please ask the golf shop for an update on course conditions prior to scheduling a reservation.

Who are the golf course designers for TPCs?
The PGA TOUR chooses a variety of fine architects and PGA TOUR player consultants who collaborate and design TPCs.  Pete Dye designed the golf course at TPC Louisiana.
