Jerry Kelly took the umbrella from the parade marshal, donned his tasseled sash and danced his way off the 18th as the brass band played an exuberant Dixieland tune. After enduring a seven-year winless streak, a determined charge by half-dozen young golfers, and a pair of bogeys that dropped him out of the lead, Kelly's 1-stroke victory in the Zurich Classic on Sunday was plenty of reason to celebrate.

Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Louisiana’s only PGA TOUR Event returns to the TPC Louisiana April 19–25, 2010.

The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is one of the PGA TOUR's oldest events. The tournament began in 1938, and TPC Louisiana is the fourth home. World Golf Hall of Famers like Byron Nelson, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus have made their mark in New Orleans, along with today's top stars like local favorite David Toms and the 2004 champion, Vijay Singh. In 2005, Tim Petrovic won his first PGA TOUR title in New Orleans at the TPC Louisiana with a score of 13-under.

  • The tournament began in 1938 and has been played annually since 1958.
  • New Orleans is the 11th-oldest host city on the PGA TOUR.
  • TPC Louisiana hosted its first PGA TOUR Event in April 2005.
  • The tournaments title sponsor, Zurich Financial Services, is an insurance-based financial service provider with a global network that focuses its activities on its key markets in North America and Europe.
