As we look to the future at TPC Sawgrass, THE PLAYERS Stadium Course is committed to consistently providing optimum playing conditions. Early in the year,
THE PLAYERS Stadium will have a dormant look, yet provide firm and fast conditions. When Spring arrives and THE PLAYERS Championship nears, the course will be ready for the best in the world. After THE PLAYERS and into the summer months, conditions remain constant. Aerification occurs on June 1 - June 4, 2009 and again on July 27-30, 2009, each resulting in a estimated recovery time of 10-17 days depending on weather conditions. Please contact the golf shop for course updates at (904)273-3430. THE PLAYERS Stadium has discontinued the overseeding process and you can expect conditions to remain excellent throughout the end of the year.

On Dye’s Valley Course, the expectations for overall playability and the appearance of the golf course have been raised. Spring conditions will continue to be played on cool season turf, which will provide an optimum guest experience through THE PLAYERS. Transition of the cool season turf to warm season turf will start to take place towards the end of May. Aerification of the greens, tees, approaches and fairways will occur from May 26, 2009 through May 29, 2009. This process takes minimal time to recover, usually a few weeks. The playing conditions remain excellent throughout the summer and early fall.

In October, Dye’s Valley begins the cool season turf overseeding process. Overseeding is a process used in the south to protect the warm season turf during the winter months and provide a green playable surface. The greens will be overseeded during the beginning of October, which usually takes three days to complete. The greens speed will remain slow during the first few weeks. This is necessary to help establish a consistent putting surface and the greens height will gradually be taken down over the next month. The subsequent process of overseeding the tees and the fairways takes place in late October though early November. Many times during the overseeding process, watering with the overhead sprinklers will occur in play. We make it a point to minimize the amount of disruptions to our guests. Guests and members can expect conditions to be exceptional throughout the winter months.
