How long do I have to sign and return the contract?
The contract allows for one week to return before it becomes null and void. We understand that in certain cases an extension may be needed. Please contact your tournament coordinator if this is necessary.
What if the contract needs to be adjusted?
If you find adjustments need to be made to the contract to satisfy specific requests or provisions, please call our tournament coordinator and the appropriate changes will be made to your contract.
What kind of deposit is required?
Where your group is staying will determine whether you need to provide a deposit or not.
For groups staying at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Resort, no deposit is required and all charges are billed to the group master account at the Resort. For groups staying at Resort Suites or the Marriott McDowell Mountain, that have a verified master account for golf charges, no deposit is required and all charges are billed to your master account at the resort. For groups staying anywhere else, a deposit of 50% is required upon signing the contract and the other 50% is required 30 days prior to your date of play. These transactions are usually handled with a credit card, although checks are accepted.
What are the cancellation terms of this contract?
If a contracted group cancels more than 90 days from the date of the event, 10% of the total contracted amount will be charged. If a contracted group cancels between 30 and 90 days of the event, 50% of the total contracted amount will be charged. If a contracted group cancels less than 30 days from the date if the event, the group will be responsible for all UNSOLD TEE TIMES.
What are the terms of reducing the contracted number of players?
A group may reduce their number of players prior to 30 days from the date of event and not be responsible for the reduced number of players. A group that reduces their number of players between 48 hours and 30 days in advance of their date of event will be responsible for all UNSOLD TEE TIMES. The number of players for final billing will be determined 48 hours in advance of their start time.
I can not come up with an accurate number of players to reserve for, what should I do?
As a general rule, always reserve for the maximum number of players you feel have the possibility of enrolling in the golf event. This number usually equates to one or two more tee times than you may have commitments for. Remember, it is always easier to reduce your numbers than to add. Tee times are being made all throughout the year, and with a penalty free period to reduce up until 30 days, you want to make sure all your participants are provided for.
What is the rain policy of TPC Scottsdale?
The rain policy at TPC Scottsdale is determined by a variety of factors and just because it rains, does not guarantee your group will be removed from financial liability. We first look at the actual weather conditions of the day and determine how fit the weather is for playing. Lightening is the major consideration. We next look at the percentage of reservations that cancelled that day due to rain. Lastly, we take into consideration how many holes, if any, a group completed. These factors are combined to determine the appropriate final charges.
When do I need to have my outing information and pairings to TPC Scottsdale?
At TPC Scottsdale, we understand the needs of groups and the desire for the event to run perfectly. From the information we are sent, we produce personalized scorecards, cart signs, welcome letters, alphabetical lists and pairings lists. In order to make your event the best possible, we require that pairing and all other information be presented to TPC Scottsdale, no later than 48 hours prior to your date of play. This will ensure that TPC staff can devote full attention to your guests upon arrival, addressing any needs. If there are any changes to your group within that 48 hours time period, TPC Scottsdale will do its best to accommodate those changes. In the end, you can be guaranteed a PGA Tour experience at TPC Scottsdale.
I would like to make this golf event something to remember for my guests. How do I arrange for prizes or gift packages for my group?
TPC Scottsdale has a beautiful golf shop filled with an extensive selection of top quality merchandise. As a matter of fact, TPC Scottsdale is constantly ranked within the top 100 golf shops in the United States! To make your selection easier, we have designed a menu of gift packages available for your group that can include anything from logo golf balls to shirts to engraved glass trophies. These gifts are remembered by all guests and allow your participants to know how much they mean to your business.
How do I go about providing my group food and beverage during their course of play?
Please mark off your food and beverage requirements on the contract you sign and return. TPC Scottsdale offers a wide variety of services as well as box lunches. Simply let us know what you would or would not like to provide your participants. Box lunches for groups staying at the Princess and playing the Stadium course will be provided by the Princess. All other box lunch orders will be filled by TPC Scottsdale Food and Beverage Department. Your Tournament Coordinator will help you with beverage cart options and arrangements.
How do I go about providing my group food and beverage before or after their course of play?
TPC offers a wide range of options provided by our own Desert Oasis, a casual environment serving deli sandwiches and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs; and The Grill Restaurant, owned by The Scottsdale Princess Resort, is an award-winning contemporary steak and seafood restaurant. We will be happy to work with your group to provide you with the exact event that you desire, serving pre- and/or post- event receptions or meals.
What do I do if I want to provide our own beverages for my group while they play?
Laws from the State of Arizona are very rigid for alcohol, food and beverage policies. Alcohol distribution can only be handled by TPC staff. Food and Beverage can only be provided by our facility. A corkage fee will apply for any food and beverage distributed by the group and not purchased through the TPC. Sunday is the only day alcohol can not be served before 10:00am.
My contract has been signed, what comes next?
You will have been provided material to consider in setting up your outing at the time you receive your contract. Our tournament coordinator will be in touch with you approximately one week prior to your event to go over the final details of your outing and the information required. In the meantime, please feel free to call with any questions.
How early should my group arrive?
Generally, group arrival is dependent on meetings prior in the day. If time is not a concern, we would suggest having your group arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to play for consecutive tee times and one hour for shotgun starts. This time period gives each player enough time to warm up and feel comfortable. It also allows participants to eat, shop, use the restroom or just take in the PGA Tour atmosphere.
How will my group get to the course and how close is the course to my location?
Where your group is staying, will determine how much time you should provide for transportation. At our adjacent properties such as Resort Suites, the Fairmont Princess and the Marriott McDowell Mountain, your group will have a short transport to our facility. We are located less than a quarter mile from each of these properties. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess provides a shuttle for with maximum occupancy of 6-8 golfers. Resort Suites also has a van that can accommodate small groups with prior arrangements. For larger groups, we would suggest motor coaches or mini-coaches, especially for shotgun start events.
Where do I ship materials for my outing?
Any materials you would like to ship for your outing can be sent to our Shipping/Receiving manager Dan Monn at 17020 N. Hayden Road Scottsdale AZ 85255. Please put these items to the attention of Jill Varichak, Tournament Coordinator and make note of the event name on the outside of the box. Such items can be shipped at any time and stored at TPC Scottsdale. We will set these items out for your group prior to their play.
What items do we rent and what are the rates?
TPC Scottsdale rents golf clubs and shoes. Although we have a vast inventory, it is important for any group contact to let us know if specialized rentals exceed the number five (5). Specialized rentals would include ladies clubs, men’s left-handed clubs and a certain size of shoe if the group needs exceed five. We have limited numbers of Titleist DCI sets for rent at our Desert facility for $37.00 plus tax. At the Stadium Course we offer Titleist 804 Oversized irons with Scotty Cameron Putters and Titanium Drivers for $62.00 plus tax. Upon request, the Stadium rentals are also available at the Desert Course. Club rentals at the Stadium Course also include the option of “Player’s Sets”. These player’s sets are Titleist 704 B’s which are complemented by stiff shafts and we have 8 sets of these. Stadium rentals include a four pack of Titleist golf balls. Shoe rentals are $10.00 plus tax.
*Prices are subject to change without notice & from what is listed on this website.
What type of format should my group play under?
There are two main formats groups use when holding an event at TPC Scottsdale; Best ball and scramble formats. A best ball format is when all four players in the group play their own ball and the team score is the lowest score of the four players. This event can be played with or without handicaps. A scramble event is when all four players tee off and choose the best tee shot. All four players hit again from the location determined to be the best shot. This pattern is continued until the ball is holed out. The team score is whatever number it took the team to complete the hole. There are pros and cons to each format, but overall, best ball formats are more appropriate when participants desire to play their own ball, while at the same time playing a team event. Scrambles are better team building exercises and generally allow players of lesser golf abilities to feel more comfortable.
How long will it take for my group to play?
Depending on the time of the year, pace of play averages between 4 1/2 hours and 5 hours. In November, December and January, we are preparing for the FBR Open. Carts are restricted to the cart paths and the rough can be approximately 3 inches! In these months, the pace of play is a little longer. Otherwise, the rest of the year, guests will enjoy less rough and a 90 degree rule for carts.
How do I get the golf bags to the Course?
Where your group is staying will determine how the golf bags will be transported to TPC Scottsdale. If your group is staying at the Fairmont Princess or the Marriott McDowell Mountain, TPC staff will participate with the hotel in pulling bags prior for your event and transporting them to TPC Scottsdale prior to your event. We are located less than a quarter mile from each of these properties. If guests choose to hold onto their clubs, they will simply bring them over when they are transported to the course.
What is the dress code at TPC Scottsdale?
The dress code at TPC Scottsdale stipulates that men must wear collared shirts and shorts must be of Bermuda short length. Women must wear either a collared shirt with no sleeves or a shirt with sleeves and no collar. Under no circumstances will denim, tank tops or any other inappropriate clothing be allowed on the premises. As a PGA Tour facility, metal spikes are permitted, but we strongly recommend soft spike alternatives. TPC has the ability to change spikes in our locker room if necessary.
