Golf Course
Setting the standard for other kinds of green
The benefits of TPC San Antonio extend beyond the club and into the community, bringing more than 2000 jobs to the local economy and a unique regard for the beauty of the surrounding Texas Hill Country. TPC San Antonio will be a model of environmentally sound methods and practices, beginning with the AT&T Canyons Course, which is one of the best planned, eco-friendly layouts ever conceived. A closed-loop irrigation system will ensure the protection of the Edwards Aquifer and support TPC San Antonio’s vision to become a golf course property member of the Audubon Society. The abundant natural resources at TPC San Antonio include 900 acres of open space, include a bird sanctuary that offers protection to the Golden-cheeked Warbler, meandering creeks, and indigenous flora and fauna.
AT&T Oaks
Current PGA TOUR player Sergio Garcia lent his unique perspective in assisting celebrated golfer and renowned golf course architect Greg Norman with the design of the par-72, 7,522-yard AT&T Oaks Course. Like Dye, Norman’s design philosophy is underscored by environmental sensitivity and a deep reverence for nature. Great care has been taken to incorporate the distinct nuances and indigenous flora of the natural Hill Country topography into the course design, to create a compelling, strategically diverse and strikingly beautiful course for golfers of all skill levels.
“The topographic subtleties of the rolling Texas Hill Country terrain, framed by magnificent stands of mature live oaks, create a pristine natural setting that is as playable as it is beautiful.” – Greg Norman
AT&T Canyons
Working with PGA TOUR player consultant Bruce Lietzke, Pete Dye crafted the par-72, 7,406-yard AT&T Canyons Course in the old style, keeping the terrain completely natural. Numerous environmental elements distinct to the Texas Hill Country were incorporated into the course design, with Dye’s signature wide fairways, stately stands of oak and cedar trees, and panoramic views of the adjacent Cibolo Canyons creating a breathtakingly beautiful and enjoyable challenge for scratch golfers and novices alike.
“With the goal of crafting a course that fits harmoniously with its surroundings, we took full advantage of the dramatic vistas, indigenous flora and beautiful rolling terrain to create a memorable golf experience for members and resort guests.” – Pete Dye
